What is Thunder Over Louisville?

Thunder Over Louisville is the spectacular annual kickoff event for the Kentucky Derby Festival, featuring one of North America's largest fireworks displays choreographed to a soundtrack, along with a world-class daytime air show.

It takes place over the Ohio River waterfront in Louisville, Kentucky, and draws hundreds of thousands of spectators.

 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing to the KPMA office with the reason clearly stated by April 3 to receive a full refund, less a $50 administrative fee. No refunds are available for cancellations received after April 3. The CECH Chair and KPMA staff will review each request individually. Refund denials can be appealed to the KPMA Executive Committee.
